Anatomy of an order

Family of five, open-plan kitchen, ten working days.

Open-plan family kitchen, cut and ready to install

The brief: A family of five needed a kitchen that could handle weekday chaos and weekend entertaining. Open-plan to the living area. Tough finishes. Soft-close everything.

What we cut: 12 base carcasses with Blum Tandembox drawer boxes, 8 overhead carcasses with Aventos HF lift-up fronts, 3.2m waterfall-edge island panel set in Tight Form laminate, integrated fridge and dishwasher housings, routed finger-pull drawer fronts throughout.

Turnaround: Plans submitted Monday. Quote back Tuesday. Deposit Wednesday. Cut, edged and pre-assembled by Friday of the following week. Delivered the Monday after.

Customer: Owner-builder. First cabinetry order. Installed by their own carpenter.
