Who we are

“Create Cuts” is a registered business name of Create Joinery Pty Ltd (ABN 16 632 826 129, ACN 632 826 129), operating from Unit 17/12–18 Ellerslie Rd, Meadowbrook QLD 4131. References to “Create Cuts”, “we”, “us” or “our” in this policy mean Create Joinery Pty Ltd, trading as Create Cuts. Contact: [email protected].

What this policy covers

This policy explains how Create Cuts collects, uses, stores, discloses and protects personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). It applies to our website, our ordering portal, the workshop, and any other interaction you have with us.

Personal information we collect

We only collect information we need to quote, fulfil, deliver and support an order. That includes:

• Your name, email, phone number and delivery or pickup address
• Your business name and ABN, where you apply for a trade account
• The plans, drawings, cut lists, photos or measurements you send us
• Order history, invoices and payment records (the actual card details are processed by our payment provider; we do not store them)
• Communications you have with us by email, phone, the website contact form, the ordering portal or in person
• Basic technical data when you use our website (IP address, browser, pages visited) for security and analytics

We do not seek sensitive information (health, race, political views, biometrics) and ask that you do not send it.

How we collect it

Directly from you, in most cases. You enter it on a form, send it in an email, hand it over at the workshop, or upload it to the ordering portal. Some technical data is collected automatically when you use the site (cookies and analytics, see below).

Why we collect it and how we use it

• To quote, produce, deliver and support your order
• To verify trade applications and apply trade pricing
• To answer enquiries and book workshop visits or drafting sessions
• To process payments and issue tax invoices
• To handle warranty claims and remakes
• To send you transactional updates about your order
• To comply with our legal obligations (tax, consumer law, court orders)
• For marketing – only with your consent, and only by the channels you opt into. You can opt out at any time

Who we share it with

We disclose personal information only to the extent we need to, and only to:

• Couriers and freight providers, to deliver your order
• Our payment processor, to take payment and issue refunds
• Our accountant and bookkeeper, for tax and audit obligations
• IT service providers (website hosting, email, ordering portal, analytics) who process data on our behalf under confidentiality terms
• Our parent company Create Joinery, where the workshop or admin function is shared
• Government agencies or courts, where required by Australian law

We do not sell your personal information.

Cookies and analytics

Our website uses cookies for basic functionality (cart, login session) and analytics. Analytics cookies are loaded only after you accept them via the consent banner. Analytics is used in aggregate, not to identify you personally.

Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers store data outside Australia – for example, our website CDN, email provider and analytics platform. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles the data consistent with the APPs.

Storage and security

We store personal information in encrypted-at-rest databases, password-protected accounts and secured workshop systems. Access is limited to the team members who need it. We retain order records for the period required by Australian tax and consumer law (typically seven years) and delete or de-identify personal data when it is no longer needed.

Your rights

Under the APPs you have the right to:

• Request access to the personal information we hold about you (APP 12)
• Request that we correct it if it is inaccurate, out-of-date or incomplete (APP 13)
• Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time
• Lodge a complaint about how we handle your personal information

Complaints

If you have a privacy complaint, contact us first at [email protected] so we can investigate and respond. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or by calling 1300 363 992.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when our practices change or the law changes. The “last updated” date at the top of the page tells you when. Material changes will be flagged on the home page or in an email.
