Assembling Flat-Pack Cabinetry
The tools, the order, and the tricks that keep cabinets square.
Video walkthrough. 8:45
In this tutorial
Our flat-pack cabinets arrive pre-drilled and labelled so any competent DIYer can assemble them with a screwdriver and a level. But the order of assembly matters. Do it right and the cabinet is square first try.
The checklist
- Tools you’ll need (drill driver, rubber mallet, square, level)
- Work on a flat, clean surface
- Start with the back panel flat. Never stand it up first
- Slot sides onto the back, tap with the mallet
- Install the bottom shelf before the top
- Check square with a diagonal measure before committing screws
- Fit adjustable legs last. They level the cabinet on uneven floors
